MONCTON, N.B. – Walker or runner, adult or child, everyone who participates in this weekend’s Walk of Life will be helping to improve cardiac health for all.
The 13th annual Walk of Life will take place in Moncton, N.B. on Saturday, Sept. 30, as part of a national fundraising event to raise awareness about heart disease and to financially support cardiac rehabilitation services.
It will be the 13th year for the event in Moncton, hosted by the Cardiac Wellness Program at Universite de Moncton.
“The purpose of this event is to raise funds for the Cardiac Wellness Program and also to promote services being offered to people who have cardiovascular problems or who are at risk,” said kinesiologist Sylvie Belliveau.

“All funds raised through this event will remain at the Cardiac Wellness Program and will be used to improve the services provided to our clients.”
This year’s event will feature the walk, as well as a 5K run, which will be two laps around the university campus, with the finish line inside the stadium. Also offered will be a 1K kids’ run, and a 400m kids’ run.
Prizes will be offered to the top two male and female runners.
“Last year, we had approximately 200 participants, and we are expecting around the same this year,” said Belliveau.
